Dear Parents,
After a successful Term 3 of 3:16, I'd love to share a few reflections and updates with you all.
The theme of 3:16 was "Love in Action". To introduce the topic of Saints, we first talked about Superheroes, then linked how Saints are similarly the superheroes of the Catholic church. Over the 6 sessions we held in the Parish center, we learnt about St John Bosco, St Maria Mazzarello, St Francis of Assisi, St Cornelius, St Carlo Acutis and St Teresa of Calcutta. This has been through songs, games, videos and talks led by either Fr Kevin, Sister Hieu, Betty or myself. For the last session, we held a Boys (led by Fr Kevin) vs Girls (led by Sister Hieu) trivia to test their knowledge - safe to say they all enjoyed themselves!
Children from Years 3 - 6 from After School Care have also been attending and contributing greatly to our sessions. By joining us, it has been a great outreach to amplify their experience of faith outside of school.
Moving forward to Term 4, the structure of 3:16 will remain the same in which the kids will be moved to the Parish Centre from 3:25 PM - 4:20 PM then back and ready for pick up in the hall by 4:45 PM.
It is a blessing working with your child and an honour to see them grow in faith in communion with other young people their age. Thank you so much for your continued support of your child's faith journey. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me via this email. I would love to hear any suggestions on how the Parish can cater to your child further.
As always, I have included the prayer for guardians below:
Dear God,
Thank You for the gift of my child and for the privilege of being their guardian.
I ask for Your blessings on me, that I may be filled with patience, wisdom, and strength as I guide them.
Help me to support and encourage my child in their faith, hope, and love, and to lead by example.
Surround me with Your peace and grace, and remind me that You are always with me in every step of this journey.
Thank You for helping me raise a child who knows and loves You.
In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen.
God bless always,

Hello!
After a successful Term 2 of 3:16, I'd love to share a few reflections and updates with you all.
During Term 2, I challenged the students to memorise a bible verse each week.
Towards the end of the term when we revised the verses, each child was very confident in what we had learned together! They have also been responding to prayer at the start and end of the sessions really well. I introduced the 3:16 prayer at the beginning of the term and they say it together with reverence and a lot of enthusiasm. When asked questions, nearly all hands go up to respond with eagerness, and when waiting for responses, they sit patiently and quietly. Their behaviour is a testament to your guidance and parenting so I wanted to affirm you all on that. I really appreciate the support that 3:16 has received and would love to hear any suggestions to how the Parish can cater to your child further.
Moving forward to Term 3, I am planning on focusing on Salesian Saints and prophets from the bible. The basic structure of the sessions will remain the same with the children moving to the Parish Centre from 3:25 PM - 4:20 PM then back and ready for pick up in the hall by 4:45 PM.
Thank you again for your continued support of our mission to lead the youth into the open arms of God. I deeply appreciate your efforts in raising your children in a Godly environment.
I am praying for you and your families and I am excited to see your child back at 3:16 at the start of Term 3! If you have any questions or suggestions please don't hesitate to reach out!
